I was told I was the light
in a sea of darkness meaning
I have overcome a lot of darkness
but yet I still shine.
That I am the sign of the
coming of a new dawn.
Medicine is of hope.
I work as a Peer Specialist
and shine my light of hope
on my peers.
I am the Wounded Healer
sharing my wisdom of recovery
through lived experience with mental illness.
I share my experience, strength, and hope
with others in hopes that it will inspire them.
